Here goes another one of those really cool utilities I've discovered on the internet. This cool program analyzes your entire hard drive and tells you how much space each folder is taking. It breaks it down in a very easy-to-read chart format that shows you the percentage space each folder takes up. You can go inside the sub-folders and be presented with the same charts over and over.
The bottom line, you can find out what the hell is taking up so much space on your drive and delete files as necessary. It's great for house-keeping and finding out where all your media files are.

Remote access and remote desktop software is more popular than ever. Nowadays, everyone seems to have a use for being able to access their computer while they're out of the house or office - who wouldn't?
You probably have also noticed many different companies that offer centrally managed solutions as well as stand-alone remote software and internet-based remote desktop services. I assembled a long list of alternatives of pro's and con's and hope to shed light on this not-so-new but newly refined technology. |

I found out some more useful little tricks the other day:
You can use your mousewheel to do all sorts of shortcuts in Firefox:
Open links in a new tab/window - Simply hover your cursor over a link on any webpage WHILE IN FIREFOX and click your mousewheel. The link will instantly open in a new tab or window depending on your default settings. How cool is that? You now save a split second without having to right-click links and go the extra step. You can also this trick on buttons on your Firefox toolbar such as the Home button or the toolbar links. The links will automatically open in a new tab or window leaving your current page un-touched.
Close Firefox tabs - Simply hover your cursor over a tab you want to close and click your mousewheel. Now you save time by not having to aim for the "X" on the tab. Also works great for closing many Firefox tabs quickly.
I'm going to have 2 new articles out soon. The latest software and websites that have made the biggest impact on me the past year and a list of my favorite keyboard shortcuts. |
