Use this great program to download music, movies, programs, and more! You can use Limewire to download anything. It is a great and very easy-to-use program.
Basically, there are millions of people worldwide that have that program on their computer. Everyone running the program is essentially sharing their files to everyone else running the program. When you use the search function to look for files, the program searches other people's computers for the files you are looking for. Of course, there are limits to what files other people can see on your computer. By default, you are only sharing 1 folder in your C drive that is created by Limewire and it starts out empty. Sharing more of your folders can be dangerous especially if you have important information in it. You can download Limewire from www.limewire.com The program comes in one small simple file and you just double-click on it to install once it is finish downloading. Don't bother paying for the PRO version unless you feel like supporting them. The basic free version works just fine. The supposed difference between the two is that the basic version doesn't download as quickly and has some advertisements at the bottom of the program. It is very VERY easy to use. Once you run, click "Search" to search for music, movies, programs, or anything else you can think of. Before you download anything, pay attention to the category called "#". The numbers in that category specify the number of people sharing that file. This number is important because your download would definitely finish quicker if more people shared the file. Another thing you might look for is the "Size" of the file; this category can be found further to the right of the search window. This size of a file can tell you the quality of the file. Assuming you are comparing 2 files of the exact same song, the one with the bigger size would be of a higher quality and sound better when you play it. Once you have deciding on which copy to download, double-click on the item in the search window to your right. Now you can watch the progress of your download in the window right under the search results window. When your files are finished downloading, you can click on the "Library" tab at the top right. From the library, you can play all the songs, videos, or run the programs that you downloaded. WARNING!: It is illegal to download copyrighted material! Or mp3's of songs that you do not own. It is illegal to download movies or even programs as well. Also, there are many viruses that are floating around on Limewire pretending to be small programs. If you don't use Limewire to download programs, you don't have to worry about this. To be safe, always keep your anti-virus program up to date!
