Here's a quick tip to fix a weird glitch that has affected some Windows XP computers. The problem is that when you double-click on an image file, it takes nearly 10 seconds to load up using the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as opposed to usual instantaneous performance.
Here's how you fix it, simply RIGHT-CLICK any image file, click on OPEN WITH, and click on "Choose Program".
A dialog window will pop-up. From here, select the Windows Picture Fax Viewer, and check the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file."
And then just click "OK" and you're done!
This slow Windows Picture and Fax Viewer problem is because you installed numerous programs that can all view pictures. When this happens, Windows takes longer to think about which program to use to open up your file. Now you can enjoy a fast XP Picture Viewer.
